We got one big early November Tuesday ordeal out of the way. Now the countdown is on for another one.
The annual “will they/won’t they” dance that precedes the NFL trade deadline every year is in full swing, with various speculators wondering who the Packers should target and what, if anything, they should give up to get them.
The Packers are still in the aftermath of their last big trade, of course, which affects what they could do at this year’s trade deadline. They seem unlikely to give up any serious
assets in the 2027 NFL Draft considering they don’t have a first round pick.
But a lower-level trade might still be possible, especially if Gutekunst can get someone to bite on an offer involving 2028 assets.
Even so, as cap-strapped as the Packers are, it doesn’t seem super likely they’re going to be buyers at this year’s deadline. And there’s little the Packers could sell off, either. Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine are probably their two most notable assets on expiring (and thus very movable) contracts, and I don’t think the Packers are in a position to jettison either one, even if Valentine has fallen out of favor this year.
The safest bet seems like banking on this year being a quiet trade deadline. You’ll probably hear something about the Packers making calls or being in conversations, as always, but the chances of them landing a difference maker at the deadline seem low.

This is a pretty conservative outlook for the Packers’ trade situation, even for a piece where they specifically are trying to identify trade targets for every team.
