Former Maryland football quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa signed with the Houston Gamblers of the UFL over the weekend. He’s reunited with Gamblers’ head coach Kevin Sumlin, who was his offensive coordinator in 2023 in College Park.
Tagovailoa last played for the Massachusetts Pirates of the Indoor Football League, following stints in German and Canadian football.
He’ll compete with Delaware grad Nolan Henderson and Iowa Western grad Hunter Dekkers for the starting role.
Former Maryland offensive tackle Gottlieb Ayedze and defensive back Glen Miller also play for the Gamblers. Those three will make their football return to the DMV on April 11, taking on the DC Defenders at Audi Field.
