BYU had its third player enter the transfer portal as Dominique Diomande posted on his IG Tuesday that he will enter the portal. Xavion Staton and Rob Wright have already entered the portal.
The French native transferred to BYU last year after spending half a season at Washington where he redshirted. Listed as a 6-foot-7 wing, Diomande didn’t get much playing time until the end of the season. He showed flashes
in the three games in the Big 12 Tournament, scoring 16 total points and 9 steals in the three games. His energy and defense were noticeable in those games. Diomande’s lack of shooting and offensive game kept him from getting meaningful minutes for most of the season; he shot 2-16 from three.
Diomande appeared in 24 games for BYU, averaging 1.9 points and and 1.3 rebounds. Diomande has the athleticism to develop into a good player down the road and will look to take a leap at his next school.
I expect additional BYU players to enter the transfer portal.
