The Buccaneers will be without wide receiver Emeka Egbuka for Sunday’s NFC South matchup with the Falcons at Raymond James Stadium.
Egbuka was ruled out Friday because of a foot injury after being limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday before sitting out Friday. He had already cleared concussion protocol, so the foot is the issue keeping him sidelined for a second straight game.
That leaves the Bucs without one of their bigger weapons in the passing game as they try to build off last week’s win
over Carolina. Egbuka leads Tampa Bay with 28 receptions through seven games, so Chris Godwin, Tez Johnson, Ted Hurst and Cade Otton could all see more opportunities against Atlanta.
The Falcons are dealing with some notable absences of their own.
Running back Brian Robinson Jr. is out with a hamstring injury, while linebacker Divine Deablo and defensive back Billy Bowman Jr. were both downgraded to out Saturday. Atlanta also ruled out Beaux Collins and Cameron Williams, though both remain on injured reserve and had only been designated to return.
Robinson’s absence leaves Bijan Robinson carrying an even larger share of Atlanta’s backfield work, with Khalil Herbert elevated from the practice squad again this week. On defense, the loss of Deablo and Bowman takes away two players who also missed last week’s win over San Francisco. Kendal Daniels handled the green-dot responsibilities in Deablo’s absence, while Sydney Brown saw most of the nickel work without Bowman.
