I think Cleveland Browns fans know that the team’s 2-0 record in the preseason doesn’t mean a while lot — after all, the Panthers were also one of the league’s worst teams a year ago, and the Eagles didn’t play their starters. With that said, there seems to be a little more optimism as the start of the regular season approaches for a few reasons:
- Veteran QB Joe Flacco has been named the team’s starter, giving some early clarity to the position after what has been a solid camp for him. He went 4-1 in 5 starts in 2023, are we to believe that he can’t lead the team to 4 wins over the stretch of an entire season, for example?
- The Browns’ defense has shown a lot of promise — could they get right back to 2023 when they were, at times, one of the most dominant defenses in NFL history?
- Cleveland’s offensive line is healthy and back to their old familiar blocking scheme.
With that said, it’s time to re-visit the team’s win total odds that are currently being provided by FanDuel Sportsbook. If you believe in the Browns, now
is the time to start making your bets on them — because if Cleveland looks like a whole new team in the first couple of weeks, those enticing odds will quickly flip around.
Over 2.5 Wins: -650
Over 3.5 Wins: -270
Over 4.5 Wins: -140
Under 2.5 Wins: +490
Under 3.5 Wins: +220
Under 4.5 Wins: +120
I’m more interested in looking at the Over odds. I’d imagine you’d win the bet of Cleveland having 3 wins, but you’d only earn $15.38 on a bet of $100. It gets a little more enticing if you think the Browns will have 4 wins or more; you’d earn $37.04 on a $100 bet. And then the 5 wins or more should be relatively easy for a competent team, where you can earn $71.43 on a $100 bet.
