Barcelona have reportedly made a first offer of €70 million for Newcastle forward Anthony Gordon and are hoping to get the transfer tied up quickly.
According to Jijantes, Deco is keen to “close the signing as soon as possible” and beat Liverpool and Bayern Munich to the England international’s signature.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that “total agreement” has already been reached between Gordon and Barcelona on personal terms.
It now seems to be up to the two clubs to agree a deal. Newcastle had previously been reported to be holding out for a higher fee but Barca know that Gordon wants to leave and has prioritised heading to the Camp Nou.
Gordon now appears to be a priority target for Barca, with the club hoping to get the deal done before the start of the World Cup.
There’s also speculation that Barca could still spend again. According to Guillem Balague, Barca still want to keep Marcus Rashford and “have money for a couple or three big transfers (a centre forward, a centre back, Gordon)” if they return to the 1:1 rule this summer.
