Indiana football head coach Curt Cignetti addressed the media during his usual Monday press conference ahead of the Hoosiers’ weekend trip to State College, Pennsylvania to take on Penn State at Beaver
Stadium.
Asked about his team’s health after a few players were unavailable during last Saturday’s 55-10 win over Maryland, Cignetti had the following updates:
“We’ll know more on everyone as the week progresses,” Cignetti said. “We didn’t really come out of that game with anything that we would call significant, just the bumps and bruises that can occur during the course of a 12-game season.”
- OL Drew Evans, a usual starter at guard, was surprise addition to the Hoosiers’ availability report as “out” ahead of the matchup against the Terps. He will remain out against the Nittany Lions, Cignetti said. Zen Michalski, a transfer from Ohio State, started in his stead against Maryland.

- “Drew Evans will not be available this week,“ Cignetti said.

 - Cignetti is “very optimistic” on the status of LB Aiden Fisher, who left the Hoosiers’ game against the UCLA Bruins but remained on the sideline with a knee brace. Asked about Fisher last Monday, Cignetti called his status “probable.” Fisher was listed as “questionable” but was in uniform and warmed up ahead of the game against the Terps.

- “Aiden Fisher we thought made really good progress toward the end of last week,” Cignetti said. “Wasn’t quite ready to go. Very optimistic on him.”

 - WR Elijah Sarratt is “day-to-day” according to Cignetti, who added that Sarratt has been “dealing with something the last two weeks.” Sarratt appeared against the Terps but left the game.

- “Elijah, we’ll know more day-to-day,” Cignetti said. “He’s been dealing with something the last two weeks but has been able to play. Had a little tweak of something else early in the [Maryland] game, and we got him out for precautionary reasons.”
