Meet the Mets
The Mets comfortably took the first game of their series against the Padres, winning 8-3. Brett Baty, Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, and Cedric Mullins all hit home runs, and Jeff McNeil drove in two runs on first inning double. Clay Holmes gave up two runs in four innings, giving up three hits (two of them home runs) and striking out two. The Mets tried Sean Manaea out of the bullpen to good results, with Manaea finishing the game. He went five innings giving up just four hits, gave up one run on a home run,
and struck out four.
