Bright Side fam, I’ve been sitting on this one for a while. Very excited to share this with you all!
Starting today, I’m the host of Suns Hit, a brand-new daily Phoenix Suns show, part of the Locked On Podcast Network.
First, the two things you’re probably wondering about. Nothing changes for me. I’m staying right here at Bright Side as Deputy Manager. Same role, same writing, same conversations with you in the comments. And Locked On Suns with Ben Garcia is going nowhere. The full-length daily show
you already listen to keeps rolling every day.
So what is Suns Hit?
This fall, Locked On Podcast Network launched “Hit”, a new lineup of daily short-form shows built for fans who want their team in quick bursts throughout the day. NFL and College are already up and running, and the NBA has just started.
Here’s what you get every day:
- Two “Double Hits”, about 5 minutes each. Two five-minute quick hits covering your favorite team, the Phoenix Suns. Watch these on YouTube or listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or whatever podcast app you already use. Free and available everywhere.
- Four “Short Hits”, 90 seconds to 2 minutes each. Vertical video, dropped throughout the day on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
That’s six shots of Suns a day for your morning drive, your lunch break, your mid-day coffee, your gym cooldown. The ten minutes before tip. Your Team. Every Day.
How it fits with Bright Side
Bright Side remains home base. The deep dives, long reads, game threads, and the best comment section in the league all still live here. Suns Hit is meant to be the quick takes you grab between them if you can’t get enough Suns basketball talk.
The two feed each other, too. When you push back on something here, there’s a chance it becomes a Hit, or at least a part of it. Some of the best takes I’ll make this season will start in our comments or highlighting our articles in here.
This is sort of a full-circle moment, because back in the Dave King Solar Panel days when I was a co-host with him, this is an idea we tossed around (leaning into shorter solo episodes throughout the week). Miss you, Dave.
Where to find Suns Hit
All linked directly to where to follow on each platform. I would love it if you all could help me get to 100 subscribers on YouTube by the end of week one. Let’s make it happen! Any support is greatly appreciated.
