In the second round of Wednesday night’s NBA Draft, the Miami Heat selected Louisville guard Ryan Conwell with the 37th overall pick. The Heat traded up to take the Thunder’s pick at 37.
U of L’s leading scorer in 2025-26, Conwell averaged 18.8 points per game while shooting 34.5 percent from behind the three-point line. He tossed in 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game for good measure.
Conwell played for four different schools over four seasons of his college career — South Florida,
Indiana State, Xavier and Louisville. He earned all-conference accolades from the Missouri Valley, the Big East and the ACC over that span.
With Conwell hearing his name called the night after Mikel Brown Jr. was selected No. 6 overall, this becomes the first draft since 2015 where more than one Louisville player has been selected.
Couldn’t be happier for a guy who grow up as a Cardinal fan and gave his absolute all to the red and black during his one year here. Go be great, Ryan.
