Earlier this week, we asked fans who should be Michigan’s next head coach. The results are in, and will be disappointing to a sizable portion of Michigan fans.
*** DISCLAIMER: The poll was conducted and
the results were finalized prior to Alabama beating Oklahoma and Kenny Dillingham signing a new contract with Arizona State. ***
- 48% of fans voted for Arizona State’s Kenny Dillingham, who signed an extension with ASU on Saturday morning that gave him a pay bump and more funds pumped into the program.
- 15% voted for Alabama’s Kalen DeBoer. However, DeBoer and Bama beat Oklahoma on Friday night and will be playing Indiana in the Rose Bowl. Alabama advancing should effectively remove DeBoer as a candidate.
- 14% of fans voted for Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, who was Michigan’s DC in 2023 and ‘24. However, Minter will be a head coach candidate in the NFL this season, with the Tennessee Titans being reported as one team that’s interested.
- 13% voted other. Which now seems like the most likely of the candidates listed.
- 7% voted for Washington’s Jedd Fisch while 3% voted for Missouri’s Eli Drinkwitz. Will either of these men get a closer look with DeBoer and Dillingham no longer in the mix?
CFP First-Round Prediction
In one of our national SB Nation Reacts polls, we asked fans if they think Oregon will cover at -21.5 over James Madison.
Odds courtesy FanDuel Sportsbook
89% of fans predict Oregon will cover against James Madison on Saturday night. While James Madison is a long shot to win, it isn’t inconceivable that they cover. James Madison ranks No. 22 in total offense and No. 2 in total defense.
