Barcelona defender Jules Kounde has looked to the future after reaching the end of his international duty with France at World Cup 2026.
Les Bleus were beaten 6-4 by England in Saturday’s third-place play-off and Kounde spoke to the media afterwards, saying he is hoping for a “great season” with the Catalans in 2026-27.
“What I hope for is to have a great season, to rest well first so I can come back stronger. To have a better season and help Barça as much as possible,” he told DAZN.
Kounde admitted
previously he was below par last season for Barcelona and also insisted he had no intention of leaving the club following speculation he could be sold.
The defender went on to start all of France’s game at the World Cup – apart from Saturday’s match with England – and will now take a break before linking up with his Barca team-mates again for pre-season.
