One silver lining about the NFL schedule is that during the regular season, there is always next week. Although after a disappointing loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9, seven days may have felt closer
to a month for the Detroit Lions.
Luckily for them and the rest of us fans, they will have a chance to get back in the win column this Sunday as they travel to the nation’s capital for a matchup with the Washington Commanders in Week 10. To break things down ahead of the divisional-round rematch I am joined by my good friend and host of the Pride of Detroit PODcast, Meko Scott, as well as another friend and contributor for the website, Max Gerber.
We start things off as we normally do by recapping the Lions’ last game against Minesota, before shifting gears and looking at the Wednesday injury reports for both the Lions and Commanders. With it being the middle of the season, both teams are pretty banged up heading into Sunday’s game. And while both teams are coming off of a loss in Week 9, the Commanders’ situation went from bad to worse when star quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a discloated elbow late in their blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
After discussing the injury situation and the NFL’s decision to reverse their original decision to suspend Washington linebacker Frankie Luvu, we jump into how the Lions’ defense can turn up the heat on Commanders backup quarterback Marcus Mariota. We also get into how Detroit’s offense can get back on track against a hobbled Washington defense, X-factors for the game, and of course, score predictions.
