Portland Trail Blazers center Yang Hansen showed out for China in an 83-57 win over Qatar on Thursday in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers Second Round. The 7-foot-2 big man produced a team-high 15 points and nine rebounds while shooting 7-11 from the floor and 1-2 from deep in 20 minutes of action. He also added two blocks, one assist and just one turnover.
Yang and China had no problems with Qatar, building a double-digit lead after the first quarter and then turning the game into
a rout in the second half.
This is the third World Cup Qualifier Yang has played this summer for China. In a 92-73 loss against Japan on July 3, Yang produced nine points, seven rebounds and two assists while shooting 3-5 from the floor in 14 minutes. In a 92-74 win over Chinese Tapei on July 5, Yang registered 10 points, four rebounds and an assist while shooting 4-8 from the field in 17 minutes.
Yang’s next and last appearance for China this summer will come Monday when the country faces off against Lebanon.
