The Cyclones didn’t have a big inning at any point, but they scored early and they scored often. Every batter penciled into the starting nine got on base at least once, with Mitch Voit and Sam Biller both getting on base three times in total. Daviel Hurtado made his first start with the Cyclones having been promoted from St. Lucie and the Cuban left-hander was solid, blanking the Blue Rocks over four innings, scattering a pair of hits and striking out three. The bullpen followed suit afterwards, and with the win, Brooklyn threw their second shutout in a row and their fifth of the season.

Every Met starter logged a hit save Branny De Oleo- but he was removed from the game in the second inning, and his replacement got on base twice, so I’m willing to throw him a bone- en route to a series opener win over the Marauders. Of note, Antonio Jimenez- who was put on the Developmental List earlier this month because he was performing so poorly in Brooklyn- had a perfect night, getting on base five times in five trips to the plate. With the win, St. Lucie has now won four in a row and have won seven of their last ten.
