Harry Kane’s Ballon d’Or win reverberated around the world of football as the 33-year-old became the first Englishman to win the Ballon d’Or in over twenty years and the first Bundesliga player to win it in over 45 years. Bayern Munich did their part in helping spread that reverberation, including a celebration of Kane’s achievement ahead of their home match against Borussia Dortmund, and openly demonstrated their pride at having a Ballon d’Or winner at the club.
And wouldn’t you know it, Kane feels
the same way about Bayern: “I’m extremely proud to be a Bayern player,” the England captain said during the celebration in the Allianz Arena (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “The support you’ve shown me since I arrived is incredible. I’m extremely proud to present this to you. I hope to win many more titles with you. Danke!”
Given that Kane’s contract is set to run out in 2027, one could interpret this as a statement of desire to renew his deal — or perhaps a proclamation of a desire to win the treble this season. Either one works.
