The Cleveland Browns have a problem. No matter who you want to blame or believe, the Browns 1-5 record is far from the only issue. Many Cleveland fans would like to see HC Kevin Stefanski and/or GM Andrew
Berry fired sooner rather than later. Not everyone, there are some who believes that there are reasons that this Browns roster is not good enough and that owner Jimmy Haslam is and was aware of the struggles.
While the problem might be Haslam, the owner cannot be fired. While DE Myles Garrett may not have put up much in terms of sacks and impact plays the last two weeks, the star defender is almost completely untradeable due to his contract extension.
Garrett may have just put Haslam and the Browns in a position where they must move on from both Berry and Stefanski. First, Garrett’s comments about the QB Joe Flacco trade were more veiled than anything, but a sign of a disconnect:
The Flacco conversation led to what seemed like a shot at Stefanski’s offense:
That wasn’t the last time Garrett had something to say about Cleveland’s offense under Stefanski, specifically related to not using RB Quinshon Judkins last week:
The visual of Garrett picking at his nails at the end of the video above will likely be used in many memes:

The Browns top-paid player also deflected any concerns about his performances lately, including speaking of himself in third person (but using his jersey number):
He also noted teams can do that due to the offense’s struggles:
Garrett stated that he doesn’t believe that fans can be more frustrated than “the people who are out there putting their body on the line and not winning,” but he has hope because he sees his teammates putting in work, especially the young guys who are hungry and ready to go and want to make plays and who are urgent.”
In the end, one of the four most important people in the Browns organization (Garrett) just publicly made statements against two of the others (Berry, Stefanski) that could force the hand of the fourth, and most important person in decision making (Haslam).
Winning cures all, but knocking off the Miami Dolphins in Week 7 doesn’t seem like enough to repair what ails the team and has Garrett frustrated. A long winning streak could but that seems unlikely at this point in time.
Haslam isn’t selling the team and Garrett can’t realistically be traded anytime soon. That leaves Berry and Stefanski as the things that will likely change around the Cleveland franchise.
Is that the takeaway you got from Garrett’s Friday press conference or did you see it another way?
