You saw them play last night against the Indiana Pacers, and now you will have a chance to see them play more often. Who am I referring to? The Phoenix Suns’ rookie class. Bot Khaman Maluach and Rasheer
Fleming have been assigned to the Phoenix Suns G-League affiliate, the Valley Suns.
With the 10th and 31st overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft being assigned to the Valley Suns, this gives fans a good chance to see them alongside other rookies Koby Brea and C.J. Huntley. Both Rasheer Fleming and Khaman Maluach will get some solid minutes to show what they can do production-wise on an NBA court.
Khaman and Rasheer have combined for a total of 71 minutes played this season. Both have made 7 appearances each, with Malauch averaging 1.9 points and 0.9 rebounds, and Fleming sitting at 1.7 points and shooting 22.2% from deep. These rookies have talent, but on a surprising 8-5 Suns team, there aren’t many developmental opportunities.
Personally, I’m looking for Khaman to be a force down low and help stretch the floor for the team. Most importantly, I want to see him look confident and comfortable on an NBA court. For Rasheer, I want to see him be a pest on defense and help force turnovers on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively, I want to see Rasheer knock down his shots and continue to be confident in his shooting ability.
The Valley Suns will face off against the Portland Trail Blazers’ G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix, tonight in Tempe. The Remix has Yang Hasen, the 16th pick in this year’s NBA draft, playing for them. A definite matchup to look out for is Maluach vs Hansen. Hansen has played a total of 29 minutes this season, which is less than Rasheer and Khaman.
How long will they stay in Tempe? Perhaps not long. But every opportunity is another chance to grow.
This is definitely a game I would want to attend if I’m looking for a good way to spend my Friday or watch at home on the big screen. A bunch of eager rookies looking to prove they have what it takes to belong in this league. You can watch tonight’s game on tape delay on Arizona Sports and Suns Live. And, as Rod noted, “For those of us outside local AZ viewing area, you can stream free this game on Roku through The Roku Channel, which offers a selection of live games as part of a partnership with the NBA. These games are found within the Sports Zone or the dedicated NBA FAST channel.”
