It is starting to feel inevitable.
There is still a week and change to go until the 2026 NFL trade deadline, but it at the very least feels more likely than not that the Dallas Cowboys are going to figure something out to land Arizona Cardinals pass rusher Josh Sweat. Adam Schefter stirred the pot of it all once again on Sunday morning.
We are going on a couple of weeks with Sweat continually being connected to the Cowboys.
First word popped up in a serious way on October 21st by way of ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Recent days have seen other ESPN figures mention it as a possibility as well and obviously Schefter did so once again on Sunday.
This is why this feels rather inevitable. There is a lot of smoke building around the idea of Sweat, who plays against the Cowboys on Sunday with his current team in the Arizona Cardinals, getting moved to Dallas.
It remains to be seen how the Cowboys could even pull something like this off. At the moment they have only four draft picks for 2027 (1, 2, 4, and 7) and have already dipped into their 2028 capital by executing a trade for Joey Porter Jr. a few weeks back.
Do you want to see the Cowboys do this? What is the most that you would give up?
