The New York Giants were the team that offered the Indianapolis Colts second- and fifth-round picks for running back Jonathan Taylor. That offer, though, hasreportedly been taken off the table by the Giants.
That report comes from the well-connected Jay Glazer.
The Giants, looking to add a playmaker on offense, have been connected to Taylor with the Colts seemingly in fire-sale mode.
The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 10, just two days away.
Whether the Giants would revisit trying to get Taylor
from the Colts for a lesser offer remains to be seen.
The Colts have appeared unsure of whether they want to trade Taylor at all.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz added that the Giants have been the only team to offer a second-round pick plus additional compensation for Taylor. Schultz added that “The belief around the NFL is that the Colts will likely end up keeping RB Jonathan Taylor unless they receive an offer too good to turn down.“
The running back market could be drying up ahead of the deadline. The Baltimore Ravens say they won’t trade Derrick Henry, the Tennessee Titans have said they intend to keep Tony Pollard, and the New York Jets do not want to deal Breece Hall.
