Columbus Clippers 0, Louisville Bats 7
Clippers fall to 52-70
The story of this game was the Triple-A rehab appearance of John Means. Needless to say, it wasn’t great.
Means was knocked around for four runs on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts in 3.0 innings.
Jack Leftwich gave up one run with three strikeouts in 2.0 innings of relief, Jake Miller pitched a pair of scoreless innings and Zak Kent got smacked for two runs in his lone inning of work.
Offensively, there wasn’t much to say about
what the Clippers did. Jhonkensy Noel had the lone multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 while Cooper Ingle had the only extra base hit, going 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Christian Cairo also went 1-for-3 with a walk and Travis Bazzana also reached base twice, going 0-2 for with a walk and a hit by pitch.

Akron is well on its way to the Eastern League playoffs and the RubberDucks kept things rolling with an easy win Tuesday.

Also standing out was Angel Genao, who went 2-for-5 with a grand slam. Alex Mooney went 2-for-4 with a walk and Joe Lampe went 2-for-5 with a triple. Alfonsin Rosario walked twice and Ralphy Velazquez went 1-for-4 with a walk.
It was a bullpen game and the bullpen impressed. Davis Sharpe opened with 3.0 scoreless frames, followed by Adam Tulloch, who allowed the only run from the Akron pitching staff in his lone inning. Zach Jacobs also was rock solid, tossing 3.0 more scoreless frames with four strikeouts and Tyler Thornton and Jack Jasiak finished off the victory with a scoreless inning apiece.

Hillcats improve to 64-54
Cleveland’s 2025 draft picks have continued to shine with Lynchburg. Eighth round pick Anthony Martinez connected for his first professional home run, a two-run shot in the first inning.
The Hillcats only needed one more run the rest of the way to secure the victory, getting it on an RBI single from Yaikel Mijares. Guardians fifth round pick Riley Nelson stayed hot, going 1-for-3 with a hit by pitch to reach base safely twice. He has a 1.113 OPS since debuting a week ago.
Starting pitcher Jacob Zibin had a solid outing, allowing one run on three hits with three strikeouts and three walks in 4.1 innings.
Juan Zapata and Cam Schuelke locked things down, combining for 3.0 scoreless innings of relief to earn a hold and save, respectively.
