Former World Series of Fighting (WSOF)
bantamweight champion, Marlon Moraes, went on to become the No. 1-ranked title contender at 135 pounds for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Now, the 37 year-old “Magic” man can add a new entry to his already-impressive resume.Coral Springs police officer.
Moraes (23-13-1) joined the South Florida law enforcement agency after retiring from mixed martial arts (MMA) back in summer 2023. In addition to WSOF and UFC, the Brazilian also spent time competing for Professional
Fighters League (PFL) at the tail end of his career.
“Every time I go to work, I want to help someone,” Moraes told CBS News about his transition from fighter to police officer. “When the call comes, I want to be the one.”
“I found a professional, compassionate, charismatic individual who wants to serve the community,” said Coral Springs Deputy Chief Ryan Gallagher.
Moraes holds victories over former UFC champions Aljamain Sterling and Jose Aldo, among others.
