Indiana football safety Amare Ferrell addressed the media on Wednesday following the Hoosiers’ ninth spring practice.
Ferrell is a senior entering his fourth season with the program after signing on as a recruit out of Columbia High School in Florida under Tom Allen. He saw minimal playing time as a true freshman in 2023 before emerging as a starter in 2024 under Curt Cignetti. He started in 15 of the Hoosiers’ 16 games during their run to the national championship in 2025, only missing out on starting
the Peach Bowl after suffering an injury during the opening kickoff before returning for the College Football Playoff National Championship Game against Miami. He returned and figures to start yet again in a safety room that now includes former Wisconsin transfer Preston Zachman.
