Bayern Munich is one match away from the winter break but the last one will be a stiff road test in the Frauen-Bundesliga against sixth-placed Bayer Leverkusen.
It has been a busy period for the Frauen, but Champions League success — qualifying straight to the quarterfinals — and a strong league position should make for a festive holiday season. The Bavarians are still six points atop the league, with regular challengers VfL Wolfsburg looking in raggedly inconsistent form despite not being all that
far behind.
Leverkusen have put in a solid campaign with seven wins and five losses to one draw, but are up and down as well. If Bayern brings its A-game, this should be a win to round off the year.
Prediction: Bayern wins 3-2. It gets just a little bit nippy at the end of what has been a real gauntlet, but not enough for the Bavarians to drop points.
