Former Bayern Munich star Thomas Müller was recently asked by Abendzeitung journalist Kilian Kreitmair if he will be watching Saturday’s match between Bayern and Borussia Dortmund. Of course, Müller had his own tongue-in-cheek way of responding.
“I’m not a nostalgic guy. I’ve played many such games for FC Bayern in the past. Now I’ve decided to do something else, or rather, I’m no longer qualified for the Klassiker. When I look back, it was wonderful. The present is now the Vancouver Whitecaps,” said
Müller (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “I’m a Bundesliga kid, of course I’ll watch the game and cross the fingers for Bayern.”
Well…that was quite a response.
Müller seems to be happy and fully adjusted to life in Canada. In a sense, he must have already turned the page (cheap way to insert this cover tune from Metallica — there was no way I was posting the real video, which is…something).
After an eventful international break, Bayern Munich is back in action — and what better way to kick off this portion of the Bundesliga schedule than with Der Klassiker vs. Borussia Dortmund.
This should be fun.
The Bavarians have been riding high and have hammered most teams in their path, while BVB has been extremely solid as well. This should make for quite the battle, so let’s get into it. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show:
- What to watch for with Borussia Dortmund.
- A look at Bayern Munich’s injury situation.
- A guess at Bayern Munich’s starting XI.
- A prediction on the match.
