Russian-hating Paulo Costa was calling for Khamzat Chimaev in the wake of his “beautiful” UFC 327 victory
in Miami.Unfortunately, those calls have fallen on deaf ears. Probably because “The Eraser” has been singing the same song since UFC 318 back in summer 2025. I guess the next option is for Chimaev to make good on this promise — or send his location from the nearest parking lot.
“I just wish he comes to 205,” Costa told Submission Radio. “I’m going to be here with my arms open, waiting for him.
This is going to be even worse for him. At 205, I’m a monster.”
Chimaev (15-0) first has to defend his middleweight title at UFC 328 on May 9 in Newark.
“I don’t need to burn any muscle,” Costa added. “I don’t need to sacrifice any muscle of my body to make 185. At 205, I have full ‘secret juice’ power. That is going to be tragic for him.”
Steaks over salads, as this coach would say.
Costa (16-4) recently moved up to light heavyweight and is already being called the next champion at 205 pounds. Currently ranked No. 7 in the 205-pound rankings, it stands to reason “The Eraser” needs one more commanding victory to challenge for the division strap.
