Barcelona have confirmed that forward Karim Adeyemi has joined the club from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund
.Adeyemi arrives on a transfer worth up to 29 million euros and will sign a five-year contract with the Catalan giants.
Here’s the club’s official statement:
“FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement for the transfer of forward Karim Adeyemi, who has signed a contract with the Catalans until 2031.
“Born in Munich
on 18 January 2002 to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother, Adeyemi brings an exciting and versatile attacking profile to the Barça squad. Throughout his career, he has shown his ability to play on either wing as well as through the middle as a centre-forward, combining blistering pace with a powerful left foot.”
Barcelona’s latest signing has been in the city for a few days now but can finally link up with Hansi Flick’s squad for pre-season training.
He’s the second signing of the summer so far, after Anthony Gordon, but may not be the least as Barcelona remain determined to sign a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
Welcome to Barcelona, Karim Adeyemi!
