Germany face off against France in the UEFA Women’s Nations League semi-finals today in Düsseldorf — the first of two legs in what should be a very entertaining and measuring stick match for both sides.
Germany coach Christian Wück urged his team to “pool all our strengths against France” while hyping up the expected home atmosphere.
Six Bayern Munich players will be representing the German WNT: Giulia Gwinn, Franziska Kett, Klara Bühl, Lea Schüller, Alara Şehitler, and Linda Dallmann.
Prediction: Toss-up.
Germany have had to endure key changes and the France squad is also a very young group. So little idea what to expect. The last time these two sides met was at EURO 2025, and Germany won that one in a classic — in which Ann-Katrin Berger wrote her legend in a dramatic penalty shootout.
Whatever happens, it will probably remain all to play for in the second leg.
