With the season finished, I just wanted to provide an outline of what Federal Baseball will look like this offseason. First off, I just want to thank the readers for what has been a tremendous season. Whether
you stumble across our content online, or are regular readers, you mean so much to the channel.
Since the start of April, we have had almost 900,000 page views and since the beginning of the year, that number is well over a million. The community that has been built here has given me immense pride. Whether you are new, or have been around long before I was here, I want to thank you guys so much. Federal Baseball would be nothing without you guys.
As we head into the offseason, we will still be going strong and providing daily content. Given the news lulls that exist in an offseason, there probably won’t be as much content. During the season, we were producing about 100 pieces of content a month, counting game threads. That number will come down, but we will still produce the same type of high end content, with more time for some deeper dives.
In the offseason, we will also have some recurring series much like last offseason when I came in. We already started the series of grading Nats players yesterday and that will continue into the offseason. Federal Baseball will evaluate every Nats player that got a serious run this season.
Another thing that will be a big part of our offseason coverage is all of the staff turnover. With Paul Toboni coming in, there will be a lot of changes to the front office and coaching staff. Federal Baseball will be on top of that and provide analysis on what fans need to know about these hires. Obviously, we will also provide up to date information and analysis on all the changes that come to the roster as well.
A series I enjoyed doing last offseason was discussing moments in Nationals history and we will probably do more of those as we enter the dog days of the offseason. With the season over, there will also be more time to do interviews and profiles.
The Bob Carpenter profile was my favorite story of the season. I hope to do more profiles and interviews with Nationals heavy hitters. Hopefully that can become a big part of the channel. We will try to talk to some players and other people in the organization as we gain traction.
This is such an important offseason for the Nats and one that can really be transformative. Even if they don’t sign the big fish in free agency, they will be making moves that will set the direction of the franchise for years to come. Federal Baseball will be tracking those moves as they happen.
It might be the offseason for the team, but it is not for Federal Baseball. Paul and I will continue to deliver as much high end content as we can. We are just getting started here at Federal Baseball. Thank you for a phenomenal first season, but we are just getting started.
