The Cincinnati Bengals have made another key roster decision, as veteran wide receiver and return man Charlie Jones is being waived, according to Ian Rapoport.
Jones, who has been the Bengals’ primary kickoff returner, was in a tight battle with several other wide receivers to make the 53-man roster. He was primarily battling Ke’Shawn Williams, another returner option who may have just made the 53-man roster if Jones is being released.
The Bengals have also waived Mitchell Tinsley, so it appears the
wide receiver room will be Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Colbie Young, Andrei Iosivas, Dohnte Meyers, and the aforementioned Williams.
As for Jones, look for the Bengals to pursue him for the practice squad if he’s able to clear waivers.
