As the Bundesliga 2025/26 season draws to a close, the title race is decided. Being 13 points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich have clinched the title with four games left to play. This marks Vincent Kompany’s second Bundesliga title at Bayern, but for long-time residents of the Sabener Strasse this is just another one in the bag.
Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has spent fifteen years with the Deutschermeister. Neuer, since joining at the age of 25, has been a key player and has won
virtually everything there is to win. The GOAT-keeper has now amassed 13 Bundesliga titles. The only person to have equaled that number of titles is another Bayern legend, Thomas Müller.
Ironically, in Müller’s last season at Bayern Neuer handed the trophy to him, breaking the tradition of the captain lifting the trophy first.
Given that Neuer is unlikely to retire despite being 40 years old, it remains to be seen how many more times Neuer will lift the Salatschüssel before he hangs up his boots.
