The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without one of their most valuable players against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football.
Edge defender Travon Walker is inactive for the Week 5 primetime matchup.
He injured his wrist early in the second quarter of last week’s win, when he collided with safety Eric Murray to bring Christian McCaffrey to the ground. The former No. 1 overall pick had surgery on Monday and is considered day-to-day moving forward.
“Guys know they may have to step up,” coach Liam Coen said Saturday. “There are multiple guys who have played in those opportunities within the flow of games. A guy like Dennis Gardeck continues to play better as well. [Emmanuel] Ogbah, [Dawuane] Smoot, those guys have all done a nice job. B.J. Green got going a little bit last week, so it’ll be a little bit by committee, but I have a lot of faith in those guys up front.”
LB Yasir Abdullah (hamstring) and OL Wyatt Milum (knee) are also out for Jacksonville tonight. DL Danny Striggow and DT Khalen Saunders Sr. are healthy scratches.
