Australia started things off with a 2-0 win over Türkiye before losing 0-2 to the US, and ended on a 0-0 draw with Paraguay in Group D. Egypt started off with a 1-1 draw against Belgium, defeated New Zealand 3-1, and drew Iran 1-1.
Lionel Messi will be feeling quite at home as Argentina take on Cape Verde in Miami. Argentina began with a 3-0 win over Algeria
that felt like a party for them (3 Messi goals), followed by a 2-0 win over Austria (2 Messi goals), and they completely rotated their squad but still got a 3-1 win over Jordan (1 Messi goal off the bench). Cape Verde have been one of the most fun stories of the tournament so far, gutting out a 0-0 draw with European champions Spain, another draw, 2-2 with Uruguay, where Cape Verde did a lot of attacking, and ending with a 0-0 draw against Saudi Arabia.
Tonight’s late game (at least for East Coast viewers) is Luis Díaz and Colombia against Ghana. Colombia beat Uzbekistan 3-1, DR Congo 1-1, and drew 0-0 with Portugal to finish out their group stage. Ghana defeated Panama 1-0, drew England 0-0, and lost 1-2 to Croatia.
