Serge Gnabry has been impressive in the season so far. Touted to be on the list to leave the club, but, due to a whirlwind of transfers and injuries, Gnabry has found himself right in the middle of attack for Bayern Munich. And so far, he has slotted in very well.
Gnabs has already got himself involved in 4 goals in 3 games and was impressive in the preseason friendlies too. In the game against Hamburger SV, Serge opened the scoring with an early goal for Bayern. Despite playing just 45 minutes, he left
his stamp on the match. In the post-match interview (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Gnabry spoke about his how long it has been since the best of him was on display. “A long time, at least as far as goals and assists are concerned. I’m in form at the moment. The team is doing well overall, everything’s going well,” he said,
What’s changed? Well, apparently not much according to Gnabry. When asked whether he’s switched up his preparation and training to avoid injuries, Serge replied in the negative. “I didn’t change anything, to be honest. I’m training the same way, giving it my all. I’m healthy right now, feeling well and self-confident,” said the 30 year-old winger.
Bayern Munich returned to action in the Bundesliga by hosting Hamburger SV and just crushed the visitors.
The Bavarians took home a 5-0 victory in a game that was never close. Bayern Munich was dominant from the outset and wasted little time in giving Hamburg a not so friendly welcome back to Germany’s top flight.
