Max Caster and Anthony Bowens had a beautiful moment reuniting in the ring. Even though it only lasted a few seconds, the fans went wild in that brief period of time. Unfortunately, Caster and Bowens didn’t appreciate each other, and that leaves us in the lurch for now on the Acclaimed getting back together.
The drama from Collision (Sept. 14, 2025) started after a rough night in the ring for both men. Bowens lost to Konosuke Takeshita with a shot at the AEW Unified Championship on the line. Caster
was squashed by an angry Big Bill in the Best Wrestler Alive open challenge series. Backstage, Jerry Lynn tried to grease the gears in Bowens’ head about the missing ingredient to past success. Caster burst through the curtain bumping into Bowens. That was enough for Bowens to lose his cool and starting fighting Caster.
The fisticuffs carried to the ring. Lynn once again tried to break though with common sense that they won the tag titles together, and now they have floundering singles careers. Blake Christian and Lee Johnson interrupted to pick a fight with Lynn. Caster helped the old man, while Bowens stewed on the outside. Bowens eventually decided to save Lynn. The crowd popped when Caster and Bowens cleared the ring with a double clothesline. Lynn raised both their arms, however, Caster and Bowens immediately pulled away. They still want nothing to do with each other. This scene is a great job of playing the crowd to encourage reactions to the story.
After the show, Caster gloated about Big Bill not surviving five with the Best Wrestler Alive. When pressed for comment about Bowens, Caster criticized him for trying to steal the glory.
Bowens laughed hysterically at the notion of being cool with Caster again. He summed it up as helping Lynn and Caster just happened to be in the ring. Teaming with Caster won’t be an ongoing thing from week to week.
