During the season, Cleveland Browns fans vote in SB Nation Reacts to express their confidence level in the team or their thoughts on other topics.
Despite the Cleveland Browns seeing a solid debut from
rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel last weekend, they ultimately still lost to the Minnesota Vikings, sending their record to 1-4. There’s still time to turn the season around, but that window is quickly closing. With the loss, the Browns’ fan confidence was 42% this week, a decrease of 20 percentage points. Our opponents this week, the Pittsburgh Steelers, have 61% confidence from their fanbase in the direction of their team, as they come off the bye week.
We asked two other questions to fans this week, the first of which asked whether fans agreed with the Browns’ decision to trade QB Joe Flacco. 78% of fans agreed with the decision, and at this point of the year, I think it made sense. It sucks because I desperately wanted to re-live some of that beautiful magic that Flacco brought to the club at the end of the 2023 season. However, it ended up being another Kelly Holcomb or Derek Anderson type of story, where that magic didn’t quite stick once they became the starter (although in Flacco’s case, the Browns’ offensive problems are a wider-ranging problem).
Our other question asks what the Browns are expecting from this Sunday’s Browns vs. Steelers game. 69% of fans think Pittsburgh will come away with the win, while 31% of fans think the Browns can come away with a win (with most of those supporters leaning toward a close win).
