Construction on the temporary stadium set to host this year’s Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia is nearing completion.

Many were surprised to learn the event will take place in a temporary venue after Mike Johnson of PWI Insider dismissed rumors that the Rumble could be delayed due to construction. However, temporary arenas like this are common for major events. They offer flexible setups and help avoid the cost of building a permanent venue that would sit unused most of the year.
WWE has used similar designs before. In 1993, the company transformed a parking lot at Caesars Palace into a stadium for WrestleMania IX, complete with a Roman coliseum theme and billed as “The World’s Largest Toga Party.”
Crews in Riyadh appear on track to finish the stadium before WWE announces a full card or reveals the entrants for the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches. So far, Cody Rhodes is the only confirmed participant in the men’s match.
The show will also feature at least one world title match. Undisputed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre will defend his title against the winner of a Fatal 4-Way at Saturday Night’s Main Event. WWE is expected to add at least one more match, maintaining the four-match format established in 2024.
