However, as unfortunate of a fluke it was by Jonathan Tah to miss the clearance, and for Jonas Urbig to be caught off guard with the long-shot, Robin Meißner simply scored a stunning goal, one that will get past the best from time to time. It was not a moment to panic, and Vincent Kompany’s side did a great job of staying calm and on plan.
Tom Bischof’s shooting ability is one of the best in football
You heard that right. Tom Bischof has one of the best striking abilities in the world at the moment. He can shoot from range, he can shoot from mid-distance, and he can also hit a precise finish from close as well. The kind of calmness he has with his strikes shows experience far beyond his years, and while Kompany shouldn’t rush him to start at striker, he is an incredibly versatile option in midfield.
Jonas Urbig missed an opportunity
Did Jonas Urbig have a bad game? Not necessarily. But the facts are that Urbig is getting fewer opportunities than he deserves at the moment, and with that in mind, it feels like he has to prove himself every game. Unfortunately, he was caught massively off guard for the opening goal and never really had the chance to prove himself later in the match. Urbig is still destined for big things, but he will have that goal running in his mind for a while.
Michael Olisé will go down as one of the best footballers of the generation
Watching Olisé play is a truly special gift. There are simply very few players to ever play that are as talented as the Frenchman. This isn’t exactly a new observation, but sometimes you just have to re-state the obvious. There is no one in the world that can doubt his talent, and Bayern Munich need to give a massive raise to the scouts that convinced the club to sign him from Crystal Palace. Convincing him to stay long-term is another issue, but hopefully an issue that the club doesn’t have to worry about for a long time. For now, enjoy one of the most talented players ever.
