The Indianapolis Colts addressed their defense on Friday night’s ‘Day 2’ by selecting two projected defensive starters: Georgia linebacker CJ Allen (53rd overall pick) and LSU SAF A.J. Haulcy (78th overall pick).
On the draft’s final ‘Day 3,’ the Colts having the following remaining picks:
Round 4: Pick 13 (113)
Round 4: Pick 35 (135) (Compensatory Selection – From Pittsburgh Steelers)
Round 5: Pick 16 (156)
Round 6: Pick 33 (214) (Compensatory Selection – From Pittsburgh Steelers)
Round 7: Pick 21 (237)
(From Pittsburgh Steelers)
Round 7 • Pick 38 (254) (Compensatory Selection)
Two of the biggest positional deficiencies still facing the Colts are at edge and outside receiver, where reinforcements are still needed. We’ll have to see if Indianapolis will address either. It would be surprising to see the Colts leave this year’s draft without a wideout, but the rookie edge class has been severely depleted early on.
At any rate, let’s see your Colts draft chatter in the comments!
