Premier League GW-10
Brighton v Leeds
Brighton are still searching for consistency, with last weekend’s defeat at Old Trafford leaving them on an even record of three wins, three draws, and three losses this season.
The Seagulls remain a tough nut to crack at home, losing just twice at the Amex since Christmas and remaining unbeaten there this term.
Leeds, meanwhile, continue to pick up most of their points at Elland Road but must find a way to replicate that form on their travels if they want to stay clear of danger.
Their only goals and points away from Yorkshire this season came in the 3–1 victory at Wolves back in September.
Team news:
Brighton – OUT: Adam Webster (knee), Solly March (knee), Jack Hinshelwood (ankle), Joel Veltman (calf), Kaoru Mitoma (ankle), Brajan Gruda (-), James Milner (muscle)
Leeds United – OUT: Wilfried Gnonto (calf), Gabriel Gudmundsson (knock)
Prediction: 2–1
Burnley v Arsenal
Burnley have responded impressively to a five-match winless run with back-to-back victories, the second coming courtesy of Lyle Forster’s dramatic injury-time strike at Wolves, a result that moved them five points clear of the bottom three.
You have to go back to April 2022 for the last time the Clarets won three Premier League games on the bounce, but they couldn’t have been handed a tougher task if they want to achieve that feat here.
Arsenal continue to look every bit like champions-elect. We might still be eight weeks out from Christmas, but it’s already hard to picture anyone else lifting the Premier League trophy.
Mikel Arteta’s side have conceded just three league goals all season and could move nine points clear of Manchester City and 10 ahead of Liverpool, with a fifth straight top-flight victory.
Team news:
Burnley – OUT: Connor Roberts (knock), Jordan Beyer (knee), Zeki Amdouni (knee)
Arsenal – OUT: Kai Havertz (knee), Noni Madueke (knee), Martin Odegaard (knee), William Saliba (knock), Gabriel Jesus (knee)
Prediction: 0–3
Crystal Palace v Brentford
Crystal Palace’s long unbeaten run has quickly faded into the background, with a three-game winless spell, seeing them slip to 10th in the table.
The Eagles have also struggled against Brentford in the Premier League, taking maximum points just once in eight meetings at this level.
However, their recent win against Liverpool at the EFL Cup should boost confidence massively.
Keith Andrews’ Bees, meanwhile, continue to impress. Two straight wins, capped by a stunning 3–1 triumph over Liverpool, have lifted them within four points of a Champions League spot.
A third successive victory would take Brentford to 16 points and mark their best-ever return after 10 Premier League matches.
Team news:
Crystal Palace – OUT: Chadi Riad (knee), Caleb Kporha (back), Cheick Doucoure (knee), Chris Richards (calf), Eddie Nketiah (hamstring)
Brentford – OUT: Antoni Milambo (knee), Aaron Hickey (knock), Yehor Yarmoliuk (-)
Prediction: 1–2
Fulham v Wolves
Fulham are starting to look nervously over their shoulders after four consecutive defeats, the latest a 2–0 loss at Newcastle, left them just three points clear of the relegation zone heading into this crucial six-pointer.
Both of their league wins this season have come at home, and they’ll be hopeful that Craven Cottage once again provides the platform to steady the ship.
Wolves, meanwhile, remain without a league win after their dramatic late defeat to Burnley kept them rooted to the bottom of the table.
Their only away point so far came in London, a draw at Tottenham, but another loss here would leave them staring at an eight-point gap to safety and an increasingly steep climb ahead.
Team news:
Fulham – OUT: Antonee Robinson (knee), Rodrigo Muniz (muscle), Joachim Andersen (muscle), Samuel Chukwueze (-), Harry Wilson (-), Emile Smith Rowe (-)
Wolves – OUT: Leon Chiwome (knee), Matt Doherty (-)
Prediction: 2–1
Nottingham Forest v Manchester United
Ange Postecoglou might be gone, but it was a familiar story for new boss Sean Dyche, whose first Premier League game in charge ended in defeat at Bournemouth.
Forest’s early-season struggles continue, with two draws and six losses since their opening-day win over Brentford leaving them just three points above the relegation zone.
For the first time in what feels like an eternity, the pressure is easing on Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim. Three straight wins have propelled his side back into the top six, and confidence is returning to Old Trafford.
United will be chasing a fourth consecutive league victory for the first time since February 2024 and they’ll fancy their chances against a struggling Forest side.
Team news:
Nottingham Forest – OUT: Ola Aina (hamstring), Dilane Bakwa (knock), Oleksandr Zinchenko (-), Chris Wood (knee)
Manchester United – OUT: Lisandro Martinez (knee), Harry Maguire (-), Mason Mount (knock)
Prediction: 1–3
Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea
Tottenham continued their impressive away form under Thomas Frank with a commanding 3–0 victory at Everton, making it 13 points from a possible 15 on their travels.
However, Spurs now need to translate that success to home turf, where they’ve won just one of Frank’s four Premier League games in charge.
Their recent record against Chelsea also makes for grim reading, just one win in their last 13 league meetings, with 10 defeats during that spell.
Chelsea, meanwhile, looked to have turned a corner with back-to-back wins over Liverpool and Nottingham Forest before being brought back down to earth by high-flying Sunderland last weekend.
Their attacking spark was clearly missing without Cole Palmer, but history is on their side here, the Blues have won five of their six Premier League visits to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, scoring four goals on each of their last two trips.
Team news:
Tottenham Hotspur – OUT: Dejan Kulusevski (knee), James Maddison (knee), Radu Dragusin (knee), Kota Takai (foot), Yves Bissouma (knock), Dominic Solanke (ankle), Destiny Udogie (knee), Cristian Romero (thigh)
Chelsea – OUT: Levi Colwill (knee), Dario Essugo (thigh), Cole Palmer (groin), Benoit Badiashile (-)
Prediction: 1–2
Liverpool v Aston Villa
Liverpool simply must respond or their Premier League title defence could unravel before November even begins.
Arne Slot’s side opened the season with five straight wins, but an unthinkable run of four consecutive defeats, their joint-worst sequence in the Premier League era, has left them seven points adrift of leaders Arsenal and languishing in seventh.
Aston Villa, meanwhile, continue to ride an incredible wave under Unai Emery.
Their stunning 2–0 win over Manchester City made it four league victories in a row, lifting them level on points with Liverpool and only behind on goal difference.
However, history isn’t in their favour, Villa are winless at Anfield since September 2014, collecting just one point from their last seven visits.
Team news:
Liverpool – OUT: Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring), Alexander Isak (groin), Ryan Gravenberch (ankle), Giovanni Leoni (knee), Stefan Bajcetic (hamstring), Jayden Danns (hamstring), Alisson (-), Curtis Jones (-)
Aston Villa – OUT: Youri Tielemans (calf), Emiliano Buendia (-), Andres Garcia (knock)
Prediction: 2–1
West Ham v Newcastle
The pressure is already mounting on West Ham boss Nuno Espírito Santo after collecting just one point from his first four matches in charge, a run that’s featured dismal performances in defeats to Brentford and Leeds.
The Hammers have lost all four of their home games this season, conceding 12 goals in the process, and desperately need a reaction in front of their supporters.
Newcastle, meanwhile, are still searching for top gear but appear to be slowly finding their rhythm.
The late win over Fulham made it 10 points from their last six matches, and they travel south with an excellent record at the London Stadium, unbeaten in their last six visits, winning four and drawing two.
Team news:
West Ham – OUT: Niclas Fullkrug (muscle), Konstantinos Mavropanos (muscle), Ollie Scarles (collar bone)
Newcastle United – OUT: Harrison Ashby (thigh), Yoane Wissa (knee), Tino Livramento (knee), Lewis Hall (thigh)
Prediction: 1–2
Manchester City v Bournemouth
Manchester City looked to be rediscovering their rhythm after a tricky start, but last weekend’s 1–0 defeat at Aston Villa delivered a major setback to their title hopes, leaving them six points behind leaders Arsenal.
Pep Guardiola’s side have won their last three Premier League home matches and will need to maintain that momentum if they’re to stay in the race.
That Villa Park result also means Bournemouth now sit closest to Arsenal in the standings, with the Cherries enjoying the longest current unbeaten run in the Premier League, eight games and counting.
However, that streak faces its toughest test yet at the Etihad, where Bournemouth have lost all eight of their previous top-flight visits.
Team news:
Manchester City – OUT: Erling Haaland (knock), Rodri (-), Abdukodir Khusanov (ankle)
AFC Bournemouth – OUT: Evanilson (calf)
Prediction: 3–0
Sunderland v Everton
Sunderland continue to be the surprise package of this Premier League season, with their stunning injury-time victory at Chelsea lifting them to fourth in the table.
Regis Le Bris’ side have built their superb start on a rock-solid home record, collecting 10 points from a possible 12 at the Stadium of Light and they’ll be eager to keep that momentum going in front of their fans.
Everton’s early-season spark is fading, with the defeat to Tottenham meaning they’ve won just one of their last six league matches.
Sean Dyche’s side will, however, take some comfort from their strong record on Wearside, having lost only two of their last 13 visits to Sunderland (W7 D4).
Team news:
Sunderland – OUT: Aji Alese (shoulder), Dennis Cirkin (wrist), Leo Fuhr Hjelde (achilles), Romaine Mundle (hamstring), Habib Diarra (groin), Omar Alderete (concussion)
Everton – OUT: Jarrad Branthwaite (hamstring), Nathan Patterson (foot)
Prediction: 2–1
