Naoya Inoue’s fight with Murodjon Akhmadaliev finally has a streaming home for viewers in the United States and United Kingdom.
Inoue vs Akhmadaliev will stream live on Top Rank’s Facebook page starting from 6:40 am ET (that’s 11:40 am in the UK) on Sunday, September 14, the morning after Canelo vs Crawford.
Inoue (30-0, 27 KO) will be defending his undisputed championship at 122 lbs, challenged by Akhmadaliev (14-1, 11 KO), a former titleholder and the best available challenger for Inoue in the division,
at least among those Inoue hasn’t already beaten.
It’s a good fight on paper, and Akhmadaliev has earned the shot as things go in boxing, winning three straight following an upset loss to Marlon Tapales in 2023.
The bigger fight looking forward, should Inoue win as expected, is expected to be against countryman and star Junto Nakatani, who has decided to vacate his bantamweight titles for another move up in weight. That fight could come late this year or sometime in 2026, if things go as all parties would hope.
