Good morning, Canes.
Here we go to start your Sunday:
Miami beats Texas A&M 10-3, advances to CFP Quarterfinals
“Night night” – Bryce Fitzgerald
Miami made their inaugural appearance in the College Football Playoffs, and went on the road to beat Texas A&M 10-3 in a hard
fought, physical, defensive struggle of a game.

Here’s The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly by yours truly
Miami is now 11-2 (6-2 in ACC) on the year. That matches Texas A&M’s final record, though the Aggies went 7-1 in the SEC.
It wasn’t pretty on offense (or special teams; WOOF, Carter Davis), but Miami’s defense was DOMINANT and the run game did damage all game long (when Miami went to it). This was a game dominated by Miami on both lines of scrimmage, and sprinkle in some big time plays by big time players. Biggest win for the Canes in 24 years.
BUT THE WORK DOESN’T END WITH JUST ONE WIN!!
Winning big games feels good. So good. The goodest.
Next up: College Football Playoff Quarterfinal vs Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl
The win at A&M means the season’s not done, and the next game will be similar to the last one: Miami will play their toughest opponent of the year.
Waiting for Miami in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinals are the #2 seed Ohio State Buckeyes. A 12-1 team whose only loss was to #1 seed Indiana in the Big 10 Championship Game, the Buckeyes are one of the best and most talented teams in the country. And, there’s a bit of history between us and them, so that’ll be…..a talking point before, during, and after the game.
As a native Michigander and Miami alum, there’s no team I hate more than our next opponent. So this next 11 days, and the game at the end of them, are going to be STRESSFUL for your boy, but hey, gotta do what I gotta do.
Miami open as underdogs to Ohio State
Through the regular season, after being underdogs in the opener, Miami were favorites in the last 11 games of the year.
Miami was a slight underdog against A&M, but won that game. The underdog trend continues for the CFP Quarterfinal with Miami opening as near double-digit underdogs to OSU.
“Cool story, Cam”. I know, I know. Just sharing the number, same as I have every week this season. Do with that information as you will.

Man. Winning feels good. Winning big games against very good, very talented, very tough teams feels great. We should keep doing that!
