FSU will return to the practice field for day two of spring camp today:

Florida State will begin its ACC Tournament run today vs. Cal, facing off against the Golden Bears at 7 p.m. for the right to face off against Duke in the third round. The Seminoles are favored by 4.5 points, according to FanDuel,
with the over-under set at 152.5.
FSU put together a feature on Chauncy Wiggins, one of 16 players to score 31-plus points in ACC play in school history:
Jamir Watkins did it against Virginia Tech in the 2024 ACC Tournament as he scored 34 in the Seminoles’ 86-76 win over the Hokies. Watkins’ 34 points are the most scored by a Seminole in the ACC Tournament. Xaver Rathan-Mayes did it against Miami in February of 2015. His game against the Hurricanes ranks as one of the all-time scoring performances in program history as he scored 30 points in the final 4:38 of the Seminoles’ game in Coral Gables. Rathan-Mayes scored 35 points, including a jaw-dropping 30 late in the game, as Florida State nearly clawed back from an 18-point deficit before falling, 81-77, at Miami. It has been accomplished by All-Americans such as Bob Sura, Toney Douglas, and Tim Pickett. Al Thornton did it twice, including scoring a school record 45 points against Miami during the 2007 season. Seminole head coach Luke Loucks was on the court as he helped his teammate Deividas Dulkys score 32 on eight 3-point shots made against No. 3 North Carolina in 2015. Loucks totaled six assists and four steals in the 90-57 win over the Tar Heel as ESPN’s College Game Day broadcast was broadcast from the Donald L. Tucker Center. And it is what senior Chauncey Wiggins did in scoring 31 points on Saturday at the Tucker Center in Florida State’s 91-78 victory over SMU. The Seminoles’ victory propelled them to finish with a 10-8 record and a first-round bye in the ACC Tournament, which begins Tuesday and runs through Saturday at the Spectrum Center in the Queen City.
“When Chauncey Wiggins plays with the force and the determination he played with tonight, I would line us up against any team in the country and feel like we’ve got the chance to win the game,” said Loucks following Saturday’s victory over SMU. “Everyone is going to talk about the 31 points, which they should; they are going to talk about the six three’s, which they should. Both are impressive. But the nine rebounds and the three offensive rebounds are what I’m most impressed with. Those are the things that win you basketball games.”
Wiggins made his career-high six 3-point field goals in Florida State’s victory over SMU. He has now made a single-season career-high 67 3-point field goals this season and 152 3-point shots in his career. Wiggins is shooting a career-high .859 from the free-throw line and a career-high .623 from 2-point range.
The senior from Atlanta has scored a career-high 398 points entering the ACC Tournament and is averaging a career-high 13.3 points scored per game. It’s the first time he has averaged in double figures in four seasons in the ACC. Wiggins played his first three seasons at Clemson.
“All of my numbers say it in every category,” said Wiggins. “I’m trying to do more as a senior. Today was pretty good for me, and I just want to keep that rolling.”
Baseball
No. 20 Florida State baseball took an early 2-0 lead vs. Florida on Tuesday, but a 5-run third inning from the Gators shortly after made the difference in a 6-3 loss where the Seminoles struck out 18 times:

No. 10 FSU softball will host South Alabama in a midweek matchup tonight before beginning ACC play against Syracuse:
FSU has won 10-straight games and are hoping to continue its winning ways during South Alabama and Syracuse. South Alabama is 16-10 this season and has a P4 win over Missouri. The Jaguars and Seminoles have had two common opponents in Rutgers and Samford. South Alabama beat Samford 5-0 and 4-1 and lost to Rutgers 11-3.
The Jaguars are coming off a 2-3 weekend where they defeated Samford twice but lost to New Mexico and Mississippi State. Syracuse enters this weekend 11-7 and is coming off a doubleheader split against Albany on Sunday. The Orange have losses against Binghamton, South Carolina, Texas, Ohio State, Liberty, Maryland and Albany.
Florida State softball will retire Lacey Waldrop’s jersey this Friday before the ACC home opener against Syracuse. The ceremony will begin at approximately 5:40 p.m. at JoAnne Graf Field. Waldrop will join Darby Cottle and Jessica van der Linden as the only FSU softball players to have their jersey retired.
The 2025 FSU Hall of Fame inductee was one of greatest pitchers in collegiate softball history. Waldrop is FSU’s all-time career wins leader with 109 and is among FSU’s all-time top five in four different categories – total wins, appearances, strikeouts, and saves. Waldrop became FSU’s second USA National Player of the Year in 2014 and was a three-time All-American, two-time ACC Pitcher of the Year and a three-time All-ACC selection.
Over the course of her career, Waldrop posted a 1.37 ERA and recorded 109 wins compared to just 29 losses and helped FSU to its first Women’s College World Series appearance in 10 years.
Isa Torres earned ACC player of the week honors after setting a school record:
After missing eight games due to injury, it took no time for Torres to get back to her usual self and put together one of the best performances in college softball history over the course of the week. Torres went 15-for-18 (.833) in four games and led the team with eight RBI. In Friday’s game against Coastal Carolina, Torres set a new school record for hits in a game as she went 6-for-6 against the Chanticleers. Torres became the first Division I player since 2017 to record six hits in a seven-inning game and was just the third FSU player to ever record five or more hits in a game. Torres had a stretch between Friday’s ad Saturday’s games where she recorded a hit in eight consecutive plate appearances which is the longest streak in FSU history since at least 2011.
On the season, Torres is hitting a staggering .597 which is tied for the highest batting average in the country. Torres holds a .638 on base percentage and a .903 slugging percentage. Torres has also been rock solid at shortstop as the junior has not recorded an error this season in 56 chances.

No. 7 FSU beach volleyball has a busy week on its hands, facing off against No. 14 Stetson and Texas A&M – Corpus Christi today and then competing in the Florida Atlantic Beach Invitational this weekend:
The Seminoles are 21-0 all-time versus the Hatters, completing a 5-0 match sweep in DeLand the last time they met. Florida State managed to earn four of five dual points in only two sets. These programs have competed since FSU’s inaugural season in 2012, when the Noles began a five-match complete dual win streak against Stetson.
Florida State is also undefeated against the Islanders, an opponent the Seminoles have not seen since the 2024 Unconquered Invitational in Tallahassee. FSU has dropped only one court in the six meetings between the schools, winning 17 dual points total.
The Noles will then travel to Boca Raton, Florida to take on familiar foes No. 15 FAU, UTampa, and No. 6 TCU. Florida State will also meet No. 3 USC for the first time this season, attempting to add a seventh win overall and begin a win streak against the Trojans.
