The Baltimore Ravens have been talked about plenty this offseason. You would almost forget that they moved on from John Harbaugh, their head coach of 18 seasons.
What will stick with many was Baltimore backing out of a deal they made with the Las Vegas Raiders to send two first-round picks for defensive end Maxx Crosby. It was a decision that seemed more like buyer’s remorse than a legitimate medical concern, especially when they signed Trey Hendrickson to such a huge deal the very next day.

it appears at least one team sought to give them a taste of their own medicine Thursday Night during Round 1 of the NFL Draft, according to Michael Silver’s interview with Ravens’ general manager Eric DeCosta:
With three enticing options, DeCosta was willing to trade back — and he thought he had a deal worked out with a team (which he declined to name) that would keep the Ravens picking in the teens and allow them to pick up extra fourth-round picks in each of the next two drafts. Once on the clock, however, the trade fell through. This time, it was not DeCosta’s doing. “We had something on the table, but inexplicably they told us they’d changed their mind,” he said Friday morning. “They changed the deal (and made another offer that wasn’t as good), and we passed.”
Truly worth a good laugh considering how the offseason has unfolded. This kind of thing could certainly happen between any two teams on draft night, but the fact that it happened to Decosta and the Ravens is extra sweet.
Decosta claims he doesn’t think other teams will treat dealing with the team differently following the decision with the Crosby trade, but hard to believe there won’t be a little bit more of this kind of treatment behind closed doors.
