The NFL calendar rolls on with Memorial Day on Monday. The Cleveland Browns have had their rookie minicamp and a number of offseason program sessions, including OTAs last week. Besides June 2nd, an important date for salary cap reasons and when Philadelphia Eagles WR AJ Brown, and a small chance DE Myles Garrett, could be traded, mandatory minicamp is the next big event on the football schedule.
For the Browns, one more session of OTAs is scheduled from June 2nd through the 5th before the mandatory
mincamp from June 9th through the 11th.
So far, veteran defenders like Garrett, CB Denzel Ward, and S Grant Delpit have been absent from offseason programming. While the coaches and fans may want to see everyone around, especially with a new coaching staff, so far, the sessions have all been voluntary. That changes on June 9th with mandatory camp, when fines and a whole lot of discussion and rumors would spark up if any veterans, especially the big-name defenders, decide to skip.
The team has not announced training camp dates at this time. Last year, Cleveland started camp with rookies reporting on July 18th and veterans following behind on July 22nd.
