Jaxson Dart injury and the sadness surrounding it aside, the business of the NFL continues for the New York Giants. The team continued with that business on Tuesday, bringing a pair of names that should be familiar to the team’s practice squad.
The Giants added offensive tackle Ryan Schernecke and defensive tackle C.J. Ravenall to their practice squad, cutitng ties with center Kingsley Eguakun and defensive back Elijah Jones.
Schernecke is a rookie right tackle out of Division II Kutztown University.
He was initially signed by the Giants as a priority free agent after the 2026 NFL Draft. He was waived at the end of the preseason and signed to the practice squad. Schernecke was dropped from the practice squad last week to make room for cornerback Jaden Robinson.
Ravenell is a 6-foot-5, 300-pound defensive tackle who played in 14 games for the Tennessee Titans last season. Dennard Wilson, now Giants defensive coordinator, was in that role with the Titans in 2025.
The Giants initially claimed Ravenell off waivers from the Titans on July 7, then waived him with a non-football injury on July 25.
