Are we in the midst of another modern day break up drama?
Nothing sends a message quite like a social media scrubbing.
Break up with a girl? Remove all of her pics.
Beefing with friend? Well, remember that pic of us having a Happy Hour on the deck…ZAPPED!
We see it in sports all the time as disgruntled players make a statement by removing all references to their current team. The latest to — maybe — engage in this behavior is Germany international and former Bayern Munich transfer target Nick Woltemade.
Per some astute readers, Woltemade removed Newcastle United from his Instagram bio:
There is a chance that this is just an oversight or that his admin went rogue and made a change. There could be other reasons than unhappiness. That said, it is 2026, so you know…
Bayern Munich was very closely linked to Woltemade last summer, but VfB Stuttgart refused to sell the attacker to the Bavarians, which led to the eventual move to Newcastle United. Now, Woltemade has shifted into a deeper role, which has become a contentious topic.
Just a few months ago, there were rumors that Bayern Munich could take another run at Woltemade this summer, but that seems like a longshot if Harry Kane inks a contract extension for anything longer than one year.
