Oliver Kahn was a legend at goalkeeper and eventually took over the role as CEO at Bayern Munich.
It was a brief and tumultuous tenure in charge for Kahn, which reportedly ended in an explosive exit.
Now, Kahn has moved on, but he still follows the club and is amazed by how Bayern Munich does not miss a beat, even when the lineup is heavily rotated.
“There’s an indicator at FC Bayern that’s very, very telling. You can basically play whoever you want from the squad – and the quality hardly drops, or sometimes
doesn’t drop at all. In the past, that’s always been a sign that it’s going to be a very successful season. I’ve rarely seen FC Bayern play as well as they are at the moment, not only in the Bundesliga, but also in Europe. The team is playing almost like clockwork,” Kahn told Sky Germany (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “The only thing – and I’m always a fan of challenges – is that everything is going too well for me at the moment. Almost a touch too well, it’s going like clockwork. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that FC Bayern will easily win the Champions League, things don’t work like that. But at the moment, for me, they are the best team in Europe, the way they’re playing football.”
It would be hard to dispute what Kahn is saying. It is hard to imagine any team being able to slow down Bayern Munich. The biggest question remains, though, can Bayern Munich stay this hot for the entire stretch run of the season?
