Bayern Munich managed a hard-fought win against Mainz 05 today, courtesy of goals from Joshua Kimmich and Lennart Karl. Speaking after the game, Aleksandar Pavlović discussed the challenges teams face when playing Mainz 05 away from home.
“I think it’s because Mainz play a very unpleasant style of football. They play a lot of long balls and constantly look for second balls. They also try to win as many fouls as possible. So, I think that makes things difficult, but I think we dealt with it well today
and deserved to win,” said Pavlović (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Mainz certainly gave Bayern a difficult time, but Bayern did well to keep their cool and cruise to a win. What do you think of Pavlović’s comments? How did you find the game? Tell us everything in the comments below!
