As we continue to wait for the Braves to pick a new manager, the search should begin to solidify with most teams out of the playoffs. George Lombard, who has gotten a lot of buzz among insider circles
is now more available to interview, with his Tigers out in an epic ALDS with the Mariners. John Gibbons also has gotten some buzz, as he left his role with the Mets and has been the manager in an Alex Anthopoulos-led organization before. Anthopoulos also brought Gibbons into Atlanta for a scouting role in 2020. He has also been thrown around as a bench coach candidate under a younger and less experienced manager hire. Generally the managerial openings have yet to be filled, so it may be a few weeks yet. That said, Atlanta has often been an early mover in player transactions under Anthopoulos in offseasons, so the managerial search may be similar in that regard.

Matt Olson and Nick Allen were named finalists for the Gold Glove and both should have a real chance to win it. Matt Olson in particular should probably win, leading MLB in Fielding Run Value amongst first basemen per Baseball Savant.
